International speed chess in the historic Augustusburg cable railway

On Saturday, 21 September 2024, an international chess tournament will be held in the historic Augustusburg cable car. Passengers will have the opportunity to play rapid blitz games with Czech and German chess players at amateur to semi-professional level during the journey or to watch as spectators. A game lasts as long as the cable car takes to travel from Erdmannsdorf to Augustusburg and back - i.e. just under 8 minutes. Each participant will receive a certificate.
