This lecture explores the oldest and most diverse technical language in the German vernacular. The first beginnings date back to the 9th century - but how did it develop further? How rich is the yield of typical mining and metallurgical terms? And is all that glitters German? The study of the German mining language is still in its infancy. So let's dig, mine and make a handsome profit.
