In 1991, the American composer and visual artist JOHN CAGE (* 1912; † 1992) created the score for an extraordinary exhibition with the "Museumcircle". All of a city's museums together display collection items that are randomly determined and just as randomly assigned to specific places in the exhibition space. More than 30 museums from the Capital of Culture region are taking part - and it remains exciting: Will the Erzgebirge angel meet the exhaust pipe of an MZ motorbike? How does an expressionist painting get on with a stuffed parrot? The supporting programme includes three concerts accompanying the exhibition: Guest performances by Micro Oper München and AuditivVokal Dresden, as well as a performance of "Vexations" by Erik Satie, with up to 30 pianists.
