Together with international dancers and ensembles, Ballett Chemnitz is creating a moving journey of discovery through Chemnitz. From breakfast to supper, the audience is invited to follow a special event at 18 stations between Markersdorfer Oase and Karl Marx Monument, Uferstrand and Stadtbad, Fleischerei auf dem Sonnenberg and Verlagsgebäude in the city centre, university library and opera house: a dance spectacle inspired by James Joyce's novel of the century, Ulysses. In addition, very special choreographies will be created for the respective locations in the city: for example by the company Chameleon from Great Britain or Panama Pictures from the Netherlands, L'Acadco - United Caribbean Dance Force from Jamaica or the Nuepiko Dance Company from Lithuania, the French Compagnies Act2 - Catherine Dreyfus, Retouramont, Samuel Mathieu, Ex Nihilo or by the Vertigo Dance Company from Israel. Students from Chemnitz will also be involved - and of course Ballett Chemnitz.

The guest companies will work on their respective pieces during a residency at the TANZ | MODERNE | TANZ festival and will be visibly on the move in different parts of the city. In this way, Chemnitz will experience a world premiere during the Capital of Culture year that connects Europe and puts our city centre stage.
