The German Trade Union Confederation of Southwest Saxony is organising a rally with a large civil society alliance from Chemnitz:
In times when we are increasingly confronted with hatred, intolerance and marginalisation, it is more important than ever to stand up together for the values that hold us together: Freedom, equality and democracy.
A new year - new opportunities to defend these values. We wish for a year of togetherness instead of antagonism, in which we do not step down but lift each other up. A year in which we defend democracy and stand up for a city in which everyone has the same rights, opportunities and respect.
Let's take a stand together on 18 January 2025 and celebrate together. With your support, we want to creatively demonstrate that Chemnitz and the East stand for diversity and a Europe based on solidarity. We don't want to give Nazis and fascists any space. Show diversity! Retain sovereignty of interpretation.
