On 6 and 7 December, the Garage Campus will be transformed into a pre-Christmas setting and become a showcase for historical craftsmanship. Children, young people and adults can learn about traditional trades and become active themselves. Various stands offer exciting insights into crafts such as pewter casting, candle making, saddling, minting (only on 6 December) and working with historical tools (only on 7 December). You can also attend workshops: Casting and reworking pewter figures, modelling and colouring candles, making small cases to hang around your neck or minting pewter coins on the mint. The tram museum is also open.
This project is cofinanced by tax funds on the basis of the parliamentary budget of the state of Saxony and by federal funds from the Beauftragter der Bundesregierung für Kultur und Medien (Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and Media), as well as funds from the City of Chemnitz.
