With its world premiere in 2022 during the global Covid pandemic, Chemnitz composer Andreas Pabst’s REQUIEM CORONA sent a musical signal for solace, hope, and reconciliation. In its Latin original, the composition combines classical choral symphony with elements of film scores, pop, and musicals. With the choral societies of Gera, Cottbus, and Potsdam, accompanied by the Vogtland Philharmonic, and musically directed by the composer himself, the Chemnitz Choral Society performs the 45-minute piece anew.

American composer Leonard Bernstein’s (1918-1990) 1965 Chichester Psalms will open the show.
