"Homenaje a Carlos Gardel" concert & milonga with live music
CAIO RODRIGUEZ Y SU ORQUESTA
Hamburg Tango Quintet
Carlos Gardel, the legendary tango singer who inspired the whole world with his bright, supple tenor voice for Argentine tango, died tragically in a plane crash in 1935. He has remained an icon of tango to this day. His life is a legend, his way of singing a great example for all generations after him.
Caio Rodriguez, currently Europe's greatest tango singer from Buenos Aires, has now taken on "Carlitos" marvellous successes such as "Mi Buenos Aires Querido", "Volver", Por Una Cabeza" and many other unforgettable titles and breathes new life into them.
And the unimaginable happens: Accompanied by his excellent orchestra, "Homenaje A Carlos Gardel" brings the legend of Carlos Gardel back to life! But it is not only the voice itself, but also the way it is phrased, the feeling of Gardel's own sentimentality that is reawakened on stage and goes deep into the heart of anyone who can feel.
Aleksandra and Tomasz Rutkowski (Puro Tango Wrocław)
Aleksandra and Tomek Rutkowski are among the founding fathers of Argentine tango in Poland. They founded the tango initiative in Wrocław in 2003 and are now part of an inspired and lively scene with their workshops, molinas and concerts - a city that is well worth a visit! For those who can't do that right away, there is an opportunity to meet Aleksandra and Tomek in Chemnitz and work with them in a workshop. www.purotango.pl
They have been organising a tango camp in the Polish Tatra Mountains since 2014. They learnt from tango masters in Warsaw, Berlin and Buenos Aires. In addition to tango, they share a passion for Argentinian folklore.
DJ Lechosław Hojnacki (Bielsko-Biała - Poland)
Lechosław specialises in pedagogical applications of the latest technologies (including mobile and cloud technologies), modern pedagogical methods (including the project method, WebQuest and e-portfolio), developmental assessment, methodology for planning, creating and implementing distance learning and hybrid learning. So he's a favourite at many festivals and well-suited to providing old-school grand segneu for the tandas in between sets and late into the evening.
As a DJ, he likes to reach for the great masters of the golden era, but not only. He favours musical diversity so that everyone can find a gem for themselves. The jewel of a good tango allows the dancing couple to feel the unique magic of the trinity with the music. A tango composition that is well composed of such gems and harmonious in its diversity releases the power that allows all dancers to experience the magic of the evening. This is a unique task for him as a DJ, as he carefully restores old recordings that can be brought at least a little closer to the original sound with today's technology. In doing so, he is guided by a fact that he summarises as a principle: "Let's not crackle, Di Sarli, when he played, he didn't crackle".
Agata Wylczinska
A brunette from Wroclaw who lives in Prague. A woman on a journey: If not here, then there. If not there, then somewhere else. Most likely at the milonga. By profession, character and passion: observer. And what gives me the greatest pleasure is the opportunity to share fleeting moments of encounters and their uniqueness with others... That's why I'm a photographer. See you on the dance floor!
