Chemnitz University of Technology is involved in a wide range of projects relating to the European Capital of Culture Chemnitz 2025 and is supporting numerous project initiatives that are being implemented at the university as part of the "TUCculture2025" task force. These include the event series "Unknown neighbours? Vietnamese diaspora in Chemnitz and the region", , which was conceptualised by the TUC's Chair of General Education together with the author and director Claudia Tuyết Scheffel. It focuses on the transnational educational biographies of Vietnamese people in Chemnitz and the region. On 6 November 2024, Claudia Tuyết Scheffel will show excerpts from her latest film "Lonig & Havendel" at the TUC. The film is about Vietnamese people growing up in the Ore Mountains. The Chemnitz-born filmmaker will also talk about "inspiration, home and films". The public film lecture begins at 6 p.m. in the Central Lecture Hall and Seminar Building, Reichenhainer Straße 90, Lecture Hall 114.
