This course teaches the countermelody and weak time. The counter melody is a different melody to the main melody. It gives dancers another option in the melodic line that enriches the dance. The weak bars are the 2nd and 4th of the bar. Traditional orchestras often emphasise these two quarter notes instead of the 1st and 3rd (downbeats). If these accent changes can be recognised, they can be played and danced with - and this expands your own language of expression.
To summarise, these points are worked through in the workshop:
- (2 & 4) to tango music and tango dance
- Contramelodía / Countermelody y
- Weeks I / Tiempos Débiles I
- Descanso Melódico I / Melodic pause II
It is better to come as a dancing couple , but not mandatory.
