Young people from Chemnitz and the region got together to design the final banners for an extraor- dinary world record. They are part of a spectacular project – the biggest youth artwork in the world. Since 2011, more than 330 colorful banners have been created, each measuring seven meters long. Bearing these young people’s powerful messages about world peace, the banners will be pre- sented in various locations around the city, peaking in visibility at the IMAGINE Festival on 25 and 26 June. This work is an artistic blending of desires for peace.
This project is cofinanced by tax funds on the basis of the parliamentary budget of the state of Saxony and by federal funds from the Beauftragte der Bundesregierung für Kultur und Medien (Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and Media), as well as funds from the City of Chemnitz.
