MADE IN - Platform for Contemporary Crafts & Design

Can you make clothes from mushrooms, lichen or algae? Is it possible to make lampshades from rushes? This is what the people brought together by the MADE IN platform are investigating. The platform forges links between cul­- tural heritage, design studios, research laboratories and works­hops in order to establish a sustainable circular economy as the new standard. Together, craftspeople, designers and re­- searchers explore the limits of dif­- ferent materials and how to process them, experimenting with functionality and aesthetics. The exhibition at the Kulturwerk Schneeberg will showcase the results of these collaborations, which have been established in Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Portugal and Germany since 2023 and are con­stantly growing.
