Participation and promotion
Associations, initiatives and committed individuals can submit their specific projects. The projects can be supported with a sum of up to €2,500. Projects with a European dimension can receive up to €3,000 (e.g. invitations from artists from Europe or international partners, which means additional expenses due to fees or travel and accommodation costs). Self-financing is not required. It is recommended that the planning, implementation and financing of the project proposal is already worked out in great detail at the time of submission so that it can be implemented promptly (if necessary, any permits or rooms have already been requested). A jury will select the most convincing project ideas, which will then be supported financially and in terms of communicating the implementation of the project.
Projects that meet at least one of the five criteria for project development (5 Cs) are assessed as microprojects for Chemnitz 2025. The project criteria are explained in more detail in the Chemnitz 2025 handbook.

The visibility of the project in Chemnitz and/or the Capital of Culture region must be guaranteed.
Chemnitz 2025 gGmbH does not provide institutional cooperation funding; "institutional cooperation funding" is defined as the funding of existing or newly established institutions (e.g. museums, theaters, associations, foundations) in their overall activities (e.g. infrastructure, ongoing business) that is not related to individual projects. Chemnitz 2025 gGmbH does not support any purchases, construction measures and/or purely investment projects. Costs for catering/meals can also only be financed for project-related content (e.g. cultural picnics).
There will be a 14th microproject round in the second half of 2024. In addition, a final concluding Chemnitz 2025 microproject round will take place in the spring of the Capital of Culture year 2025. The City of Chemnitz's EUJA! funding program offers further funding opportunities. Submissions are made via the submission platform. In exceptional cases, projects can also be submitted by post or email after consultation.

An independent jury, made up of various stakeholders from the city and the Capital of Culture region, assesses the projects and evaluates them according to the defined criteria.
