Imaging processes and their equipment provide a means to help medical staff gain knowledge. The sense of sight and its physical extension, photography, thus promise a high degree of rationality. At the invitation of Klinikum Chemnitz, the photographer Felix Bielmeier will spend six months developing a project that renders visible what is not perceived by the public. Medical work and patient care are at the centre of this exploration – alongside a reflection on aesthetic boundaries and the ambivalent possibilities of the photographic image, situated between information and social practice.
