Schocken von Schocken - How not to privatise air? [CANCELLED]

A play about the moral legacy of department store owner Salman Schocken

Salman Schocken had the well-being of his employees at heart. He paid them well and took great care of them. The employees of the Schocken department stores, which were scattered throughout the region, were able to spend their annual holidays at a resort he had built in the countryside. The company covered the costs. In the shops themselves, Schocken did not offer fast fashion, but made long-lasting quality goods affordable for everyone. He was by no means a liberal, but rather a conservative humanist. The play aims to address ideas at the interface of social and capitalist behaviour. Artistically, it also explores the idea of a guaranteed basic income. With scenic imagination, the play theatrically looks out for a better future for us all. Theatres in Poland and Germany are working together on this production across borders.
