SLAM 25

For over five days, poets from Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Belgium, Luxembourg and Italy (South Tyrol) took to the stage in Chemnitz to present their best work. Among them were stage professionals as well as up-and-coming talents, under-20s and over-60s, people from different cultural backgrounds and genders. They had worked together in writing workshops beforehand. They competed against each other in genres including prose, poetry, spoken word, storytelling and comedy. They often dealt with current issues such as care work, impoverishment, rural exodus and discrimination in an entertaining way. In the end, the audience decided on the best text and performance.
