A theatrical city tour on the subject of work – by and with women from Chemnitz

At the bus station the audience boards an old Ikarus bus. Produced by the manufacturer of the same name in Hungary between 1973 and 1989, Ikarus buses were mainly used in the former Eastern Bloc. Accompanied by a tour guide, you will travel through Chemnitz visiting various workplaces. Each stop features its own theatrical performance, including classical, puppetry, and dance. The questions are always the same: What do I have to do to be able to work? What is the price of this?
When: 3 to 7 September 2025
Where? Start at Chemnitz bus station
Join in
Together with women who live in Chemnitz and the region, five short plays on the subject of work will be developed. Over the next few months, they will research, exchange ideas, write, rehearse, sing and dance together. The end result will be a production in which the women raise their voices and present their view of things.
Fancy taking part? All women/FLINTA who are at least 16 years old can take part. Both the joint process and the performances are designed to be as accessible as possible. The next warm-up meeting is on 27 March, 4 or 6 pm at Weltecho (Annaberger Str. 24, Chemnitz).
Participation
All people should be able to take part in the performances. Some performances will be translated into German sign language. Some performances will be offered with live audio description. There will also be performances that are suitable for English speakers. The dates for these will be announced in May.
