How can we understand and visualise our relationship to the unknown and the hidden by looking at things from different perspectives? The KIOSK OF UNKNOWLEDGE invited us to do just that. It was located in the centre of a residential area in Chemnitz formerly named after Fritz Heckert. It was planned as one of the largest new housing estates in the GDR, with lots of greenery and open space. After reunification, the utopia of modern living lost its appeal. People moved away, houses were demolished. The open spaces had become even larger - and the four-week pop-up kiosk now stood in them, a place of absent answers where people were allowed to look, try, inform, consume, confront and ask questions.

When? August to September 2025

Where? Chemnitz, former airport in the Fritz Heckert area
