How can we collaboratively understand and visualise our relationship to the unknown and the hidden by looking at things from different perspectives? The KIOSK OF UNKNOWLEDGE invites you to do just that. It stands in the centre of the former Fritz Heckert residential district in Chemnitz, planned as one of the largest new estates in the GDR, with lots of green and open space. After reunification, the utopia of modern living lost its appeal. People moved away; houses were demolished. The open spaces became even larger – and that’s where the pop-up kiosk ist located now, a place where answers are absent, where people can glance, try out, be informed, consume, confront and ask questions.
