TIN & MANKIND

An archaeological search for clues in the Ore Mountains

Cr.: LfA

Sensational new archaeological findings prove it: The rare raw material for the production of bronze from copper and tin was mined in the Ore Mountains thousands of years ago. How did people mine and process tin from the Bronze Age to the early modern period? What social, economic and cultural impact did the trade in this coveted ore have?
The exhibition presents new findings from the German-Czech EU project ArchaeoTin.
This exhibition will inspire visitors with the history of tin and its significance for the development of our culture.
