Young art on the PURPLE PATH

A new look at traditional patterns and icons of Erzgebirge folk art

Cr.: Nele Beck

Using the example of the Ströher collection at the Manufaktur der Träume, students from the art A-level class at the Gymnasium der Evangelischen Schulgemeinschaft Erzgebirge (grammar school of the Protestant school community in the Ore Mountains) analysed, questioned and interpreted traditional models of Ore Mountain culture. In collaboration with the artist Thomas Suchomel, who is showing his "spherical object" created at the Annaberger Impuls in the exhibition, they presented refreshing new perspectives on traditional patterns and icons of Erzgebirge folk art.
