Chemnitz 2025 presented a varied cultural programme at this year's Open Day in the Saxon State Parliament on 3 October 2025: A space for music and dance was created for one day in the plenary chamber, usually the centre of political debates. Jürgen Karthe from the Saxon Mozart Society whisked visitors away to Argentina with his bandoneon. Karthe is one of the few who has mastered the instrument. The Dancing Neighbours, the Chemnitz 2025 dance project for people over 60, and the Chemnitz dance studio Room Hip Hop Spot brought a wide variety of dance styles and choreographies to the Landtag and invited the audience to watch, marvel and join in.
