MOVING GARDEN - a moving garden for Chemnitz

Together with around 700 people from Chemnitz, we formed a "Moving Garden" that ran like a green ribbon through Chemnitz city centre on Saturday evening. People of all ages came together for a collective art event to create a "moving" garden. The participants walked through the city centre with their plants, chatting, laughing and enjoying the relaxed and moving atmosphere. In this way, they kept the garden in constant motion and in turn brought movement to our city centre.

The artistic performance was initiated by Spanish artist Maider López, who invited us to experience spaces together in a potentially different way. The people of Chemnitz were then able to take their plant home with them. The collaborative spirit of the "Moving Garden" thus lives on in the living room at home as a blossoming symbol of the European Capital of Culture 2025.
