NILES-SIMMONS-HEGENSCHEIDT is Gold Sponsor for Chemnitz 2025

With the Volksbanken Raiffeisenbanken and the NILES-SIMMONS-HEGENSCHEIDT Group, two more companies are getting involved as Gold Sponsors for the European Capital of Culture Chemnitz 2025.

"We move the European Capital of Culture Chemnitz" is the statement of the globally active machine tool manufacturer NILES-SIMMONS-HEGENSCHEIDT (NSH Group). The NSH Group's technologies are used to transport more than a billion people in over 100 countries every day. Whether it's wheelsets for modern high-speed trains or metro railways, the machine tools manufactured by the NSH Group at six locations move people around the world.

The NSH Group's broad technology also includes CNC machines for machining engine parts for transport or passenger aircraft, mechanical engineering components for cargo and passenger ships, giant turbines, wind turbines and a wide range of components for various industries. As a sponsor of the Capital of Culture, the international company headquartered in Chemnitz wants to help make the region's cultural heritage visible, provide new impetus and draw international attention to Chemnitz.

"As a globally active company with deep roots in Chemnitz, we want to promote cultural diversity and creative exchange, which are of great importance for the further development of our city and also for us as a company. As a globally successful high-tech company, we hope that our commitment will increase the attractiveness of Chemnitz and, of course, also have the opposite effect."

The NSH Group's sponsorship is visible in the Industrial Museum, for example. Museum director Jürgen Kabus on the "Thanks to the support of NILES-SIMMONS-HEGENSCHEIDT GmbH, the Chemnitz Industrial Museum can begin to develop the museum's outdoor area for visitors as part of its special European exhibition "Tales of Transformation" (25 April to 16 November 2025). The green oasis behind the museum will serve as a meeting place for corporate events, events, outdoor cinema (industrial museum open air) and concerts during the Capital of Culture year 2025."
