SPORTS UNITED 2023

SPORTS UNITED celebrated its premiere on 4 September 2022 in conjunction with the "European Peace Ride" - whether in a club, as a private individual or as a recreational athlete - and is entering its second round this year.

The focus here is by no means on performance, but rather on the valuable sense of community, which on the one hand invites people to interact with other people and on the other hand is able to overcome social divides. SPORTS UNITED is intended to offer many participants the opportunity to get actively involved in the Capital of Culture year through sport.

in 2023, e-bike, mountain bike, children's and running bike tours will be on offer. Sports enthusiasts and those who want to become sports enthusiasts can register online for one-day and multi-day tours of various sports, which will take place from 8 to 10 September 2023.

The new event format was organised in cooperation with the Chemnitz City Sports Association, several sports clubs, stakeholders and C³ Chemnitzer Veranstaltungszentren GmbH.

The "SPORTS UNITED" project is one of the projects for the Chemnitz 2025 European Capital of Culture programme and Kulturhauptstadt GmbH is supporting the project's development process.
