How can we make our European Capital of Culture year 2025 a great experience for all citizens? And how can we avoid some of the hurdles that previous Capitals of Culture have had to overcome?

To continue working on these questions, we invited leading decision-makers from past, present and future European Capitals of Culture to share their key insights with us as part of the European makers united festival.

Further experiences and concrete ideas for joint projects were exchanged during a working breakfast at the Capital of Culture Office.

Many thanks to Bruges 2002, Tallinn 2011, Wroclaw 2016, Leeuwarden 2018, Kaunas 2022, Tartu 2024 and Nova Gorica 2025!
