"The Capital of Culture can come. We are paving the way" - this is the motto under which seven Volksbanken Raiffeisenbanken from the Capital of Culture region are jointly supporting the Chemnitz 2025 project, including Volksbank Chemnitz eG, Vereinigte Raiffeisenbank Burgstädt eG, Volksbank Raiffeisenbank Glauchau eG, VR-Bank Mittelsachsen eG, Volksbank Mittleres Erzgebirge eG, Volksbank Mittweida eG and Volksbank Zwickau eG. With more than 60 branches and a total of around 950 employees, the Volksbanken Raiffeisenbanken are rooted in the region as cooperative banks and offer financial solutions for private and business customers.

Gunnar Bertram, Chairman of the Board of Management of Volksbank Chemnitz eG:
"We are convinced that the title of European Capital of Culture is a unique opportunity for Chemnitz and the entire cultural and economic region. It is therefore a matter close to all our hearts to be a supporter, financial sponsor, active part and multiplier of the Capital of Culture movement. Together with all those involved, we want to position Chemnitz and the region as an attractive cultural metropolis and strengthen its identity and the associated self-confidence. At the same time, the process is an important location factor for our region, where people feel comfortable, want to work and live and where companies invest and see a future."

Beatrix Irmscher, Member of the Management Board of Vereinigte Raiffeisenbank Burgstädt eG:
"With the broad network of supporters from our seven regional Volksbanken Raiffeisenbanken and the affiliated companies of our cooperative financial network, we are sending an important signal that Chemnitz and its surrounding area not only belong firmly together, but can achieve a great deal together. True to our cooperative principle 'What one person cannot achieve alone, many can'."
