Chemnitz Utopia

Where have our utopias gone?

P: Johannes Richter / I: Anja Jurleit (Bikini Kommando)

»We live in the best of all possible worlds« and »There is no alternative« – these are phrases that paralyse social discourse. Where have our utopian ideas gone, all the great projects of liberation? CHEMNITZ UTOPIA explores this question with public performances, workshops, and discussions in Chemnitz, Prague and Ústí nad Labem. A theatre piece will be developed and performed in different versions. The famous bust of Karl Marx in Chemnitz will be the starting point for exploring what has be- come of the world’s utopian ideas.
