From Beethoven's 9th Symphony to hip-hop and electro: under the motto "Running Culture", the participants discovered Chemnitz and its sights. The special thing was that the running route became the longest stage in the world. Various orchestras, choirs and DJs provided unique musical highlights. Visitors to the European Capital of Culture Marathon also met the thousands of runners taking part in the 50th German Sparkasse Marathon. There were various distances to choose from, and many had registered in good time.
