At the final planting festival of Gelebte Nachbarschaft, hundreds of apple trees will be planted together in Chemnitz and the Capital of Culture Region from 19 to 26 October 2025. Get to work, grab a spade and plant the future!

Caring and celebrating are also part of it, today with the finale of the apple cake culture at the adult education center in Chemnitz: neighbors from near and far cook regional apple specialties together. Today, the favorite dish of the apple cake culture series is enjoyed.

LIVING NEIGHBOURHOOD

GELEBTE NACHBARSCHAFT is a main project of the European Capital of Culture Chemnitz 2025, focussing on sustainability and a green city. Joint planting campaigns bring neighbourhoods in Chemnitz and the Capital of Culture region closer together. The participatory project is flanked by suitable educational programmes and artistic activities.
