Heavy rain, record temperatures, a lack of rainfall and localised storms - our weather is becoming more extreme as a result of the climate crisis. Droughts and floods are the consequences.

The play KLIMA-MONOLOGE by director Michael Ruf shows in an impressive and moving way what this means for us humans in concrete terms. People affected by extreme droughts and floods have their say. They talk about their struggle to survive.
These are stories from the Global South - from people who have contributed little or hardly anything to the climate crisis, but who suffer particularly from its extremes.

Effective climate protection is a question of justice. Germany is one of the world's biggest emitters of greenhouse gases and has a special duty in this regard. We also live at the expense of other countries when it comes to water. Of the approximately 7,200 litres of water that we consume per capita in Germany every day through products, 86 percent comes from abroad.

After the performance, we will talk to:
Phoebe Mossmann, Wort und Herzschlag
Inka Dewitz, Heinrich Böll Foundation - International Cooperation
Rebekka Schwarzbach, Green League / Environmental Group Cottbus

The event is organised in cooperation with weiterdenken-Heinrich-Böll-Stiftung Sachsen.
