In addition to Chemnitz, 38 municipalities in the surrounding area are taking part in the Capital of Culture year. The towns are linked by various projects - but the main project is the "Purple Path". An exploration of this art trail can of course also be wonderfully combined with a visit to some parts of the UNESCO World Heritage Site Erzgebirge/Krušnohoři Mining Region.

Art & Ore is a day trip to the artworks "Oben mit", "Fließgleichgewicht", "Plywood" and "Glance", combined with visits to the World Heritage sites "Historischer Pferdegöpel Lauta" and "Saigerhütte Grünthal", each with guided tours of the objects and a stay in the Renaissance town of Marienberg, also a World Heritage site.

The "Historische Pferdegöpel Lauta" is a testimony to ore mining, the "Saigerhütte Grünthal" to ore processing.

There is time for an individual lunch and coffee break in Marienberg and at the "Saigerhütte Grünthal".

If required, you can also join the tour in Zschopau and get off in Flöha.
