An event of the accompanying programme on the opening weekend of the PURPLE PATH from 11-13 April 2025

During the joint road run between Lugau and Gersdorf, all participants can actively explore the Purple Path. Runners of all levels are welcome. The start is at 2.15 pm in Lugau town park with the finish at the Hessenmühlenkomplex in Gersdorf. Those with extra stamina will run back to Lugau with the group at 3.00 pm.
For hiking enthusiasts, an art hike leads through the beautiful countryside from Gersdorf to Lugau. The tour starts at 12 noon at the Tetzner Museum in Gersdorf with a visit to the Hesse Mill complex and ends in Lugau.
In Lugau town park, all guests can enjoy a picnic and savour the regional delicacies from both towns in a convivial atmosphere.

Meeting point for the hike: Tetzner Museum in the Hessenmühle Culture and Art Centre, Hauptstraße 193, 09355 Gersdorf
Meeting point for the road run: Stadtpark, 09385 Lugau

Museum entrance fee: €2.50 adults | €1.25 children
You can also take part in the hike without visiting the museum.

The PURPLE PATH art and sculpture trail presents permanent contemporary sculptures in public spaces and tells stories from Chemnitz and 38 communities in the region. Works by more than 60 artists are on display.
