Beans are real all-rounders: healthy, sustainable and surprisingly beautiful. Nevertheless, they are often underestimated - high time to change that!

In this workshop for children and young people aged 10 to 16, the creative diversity of beans will be discovered. Together with the artist, designer and programmer Akiko Takahashi from Tokyo (lives in Leipzig), the participants will create individual jewellery from beans and selected jewellery elements. Each piece will be truly unique.

Delicious, Japanese-inspired bean snacks will be served during the creative work.

For children and young people aged 10 to 16. The programme is free of charge.

Makerhubs

Nine Makerhubs in Chemnitz and the Capital of Culture Region will become places where people can learn from each other and create something new together. They are also places where designers, craftspeople, entrepreneurs, the next generation of skilled workers and makers from all over the world come together. Visitors and creative tourists can experience regional culture and traditions at workshops. The Makerhubs are part of the Makers, Business & Arts programme. This main project of the European Capital of Culture Chemnitz 2025 is all about promoting creative tourism offerings and cross-sector collaboration between industry and creative professionals. The project is being implemented by the Kulturhauptstadt Europas Chemnitz 2025 gGmbH in cooperation with the Landesverband der Kultur- und Kreativwirtschaft Sachsen e. V.
