Chemnitz, Büro Kulturhauptstadt: Schmidtbank

The Diversity Program of the European Capital of Culture Chemnitz 2025 gGmbH invites all interested parties involved in shaping intercultural coexistence in Chemnitz to a BIG TABLE discussion.

In addition to representatives of migrant self-organizations and artists/cultural professionals, employees from the
Capital of Culture Office and representatives from the Capital of Culture year flagships “3000 Garages” and “Living Neighbourhoods” will  be present.

The content will focus on the OPEN COMMUNITY KITCHENS, finding the right locations, hands-on activities and an accompanying artistic program. The aim is to develop ideas together on how to bring the topic of diversity
to life during the Capital of Culture year and beyond.

The OPEN COMMUNITY KITCHENS are various participation formats at different locations in Chemnitz, organized by two migrant associations/organizations. With a view to Eastern Europe and beyond, we open up unseen places to culinary and artistic-active places and invite all makers to participate.
