Christmas post from Chemnitz and the Capital of Culture region - trade fair visitors design their Christmas cards for family and friends and anyone who wants to can put their post in the Chemnitz 2025 letterbox right at the trade fair stand

Bandoneon player Jürgen Karthe takes the opportunity to show off his skills and talk to trade fair visitors.
About the artist:
Like the bandoneon, Jürgen Karthe comes from Saxony. As an accordionist, he could not resist the sound of the bandoneon in 1994 and initially began playing the bandoneon as an autodidact in the Ore Mountains, the cradle of the famous >Doble A< bandoneon. The bandoneon eventually led him to tango argentino. From then on, he took advantage of study opportunities ranging from street musicians in Buenos Aires to the Rotterdam Music Conservatory. Now a sought-after tango musician, he has enjoyed numerous international successes with the Semperoper Dresden, the Munich Symphony Orchestra and other renowned orchestras. He has given concerts with his bandoneon in Buenos Aires, London, Paris, Yokohama, Istanbul and Moscow and has produced a number of tango CDs.

Elector Augustus of Saxony and Electress Anna will be walking around Touristik & Caravaning and talking to trade fair visitors. Both have left their mark on Saxony to this day and have helped Saxony to achieve unprecedented economic and cultural prosperity through their prudence and foresight - this was also of great importance for the future European Capital of Culture Chemnitz 2025.

The European Capital of Culture Chemnitz 2025 and the Chemnitz Zwickau Region Tourism Association are cultural partners of the Touristik & Caravaning trade fair in Leipzig.
Next year, Chemnitz will be the European Capital of Culture, together with 38 municipalities from Central Saxony, the Ore Mountains and the Zwickau region. Chemnitz and the surrounding region share a rich cultural and industrial heritage. The title of European Capital of Culture is an invitation to embark on a multifaceted journey of discovery to the east of Germany in the centre of Europe. At the heart of the programme are around 150 projects and more than 1000 events that mix local stories and faces with European narratives and well-known names.
At stand 4I11 you will find attractive hands-on activities for young and old. Surprises from the destination await you on the stage. There will also be various partners on site with whom you can rediscover your homeland!
