The horn players from the inclusive ‘100Mozartkinder’ project, run by the Saxon Mozart Society (Sächsische Mozart-Gesellschaft e. V.), invite you to a musical Advent evening centred around the horn.
From 6 pm, anyone interested can learn about various horn instruments and have a go at playing them themselves. Whether it’s a French horn, alphorn, hunting horn, conch shell, animal horn or even a garden hose used as a wind instrument: the musicians will demonstrate how the different sounds are produced and invite everyone to make music together. There will also be mulled wine, children’s punch and biscuits in a convivial atmosphere.
From 7 pm to 8 pm, there will be a festive concert featuring horn players from Prof. Thomas Hauschild’s class at the ‘Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy’ University of Music in Leipzig. The programme features Advent and Christmas wind ensemble pieces to get everyone in the mood for the upcoming festive season.
