Zwickau, courtyards in the city centre

entrance free

Meeting friends, sitting comfortably in the open air, barbecuing with loved ones or making new acquaintances, listening to exciting stories, trying out creative handicrafts or simply enjoying the music in the greenery - and all this in places that you don't normally get to see or that get lost in the everyday hustle and bustle.

On 13 September, nine courtyards in Zwickau's city centre will come into focus. With a colourful programme for young and old, they invite you to stroll, discover, linger, chat and enjoy.

The variety of courtyards ranges from historical - such as Osterstein Castle or the Posthalterei - to more modern, functional - think of the courtyard of the Plauen-Zwickau theatre or the courtyard of the new building blocks between Muldendamm and Katharinenstraße - to cosy, small and manageable behind the Priesterhäuser or the Stadtkirchgemeinde. The programme is as varied as the courtyards themselves. Musically, the programme ranges from classical music to jazz and gospel to rock sounds. There is puppet theatre, herbal stories, insights into the world of fashion and theatre, arts and crafts, city history and also the popular pub quiz organised by the Alter Gasometer e. V. In short, there is something for all ages.

Experience a special kind of city walk! It's worth taking a look behind the facades, because Zwickau is worth seeing in many unexpected places.
