TANZ | MODERNE | TANZ - Adi Boutrous (IL) - REFLECTIONS

Adi Boutrous' "Reflections" combines Renaissance symbols with ritual moments and intimate encounters. Between ethics and aesthetics, a dance is created about devotion, beauty and the question of what a future without old narratives might look like.

Adi Boutrous' dance piece revolves around myths and symbols from Renaissance art—the idea of devotion and the notion that beauty has a humanistic value. Between ritual moments and intimate physical encounters, the Israeli choreographer revives the epic stories of the past. While they recall deeply rooted aesthetic principles, they also reveal a cultural future without their presence. In the context of art history, ‘Reflections’ becomes a poignant encounter between ethics and aesthetics.
