Dancing neighbours: dance classes for older people (Group 1)

Location

The Dancing Neighbours dance classes invite you to get moving and explore the world of dance together in a sociable and low-threshold setting under the guidance of experienced dance teacher Terrry Pedersen Pfeiffer. It doesn't matter whether you have previous experience or not - the main thing here is to be active together.

To ensure that everyone can take part, two groups meet weekly at two different locations in Chemnitz. In the two-hour programme, you will benefit from Terrry's wealth of experience. You will learn to express yourself together in a relaxed and supportive atmosphere. The groups meet every Tuesday and Saturday.

Dates:

• Group 1: every Saturday, from 9.30 to 11.30 a.m. | Volkssolidarität meeting centre (Clausstr. 31, 09126 Chemnitz)
• Group 2: every Tuesday, from 10 a.m. to 12 noon | Kraftwerk e.V. (Kaßbergstr. 36, 09112 Chemnitz)

But that's not all! Intensive five-day workshops are planned for the rest of the year. These will be led by renowned guest choreographers from Japan. Why from Japan? Well, Japan is a country that has similar demographic challenges to ours. Research has been conducted there for years into how older people can remain active and lead a fulfilling life. Artistic programmes play an important role in this. Our Japanese experts therefore bring valuable knowledge and experience with them. This course is part of the dance groups that take place weekly. Participation is only possible if you are registered with these groups.

No dance skills are necessary, the focus of the workshops is on joint movement and networking between the neighbourhoods.
