SPEISEWAGEN (UA)

A dining car on the Prague - Hamburg route. Head waiter Peterka hurries through the corridor and serves draught beer. A merry party has been going on since the morning, full of the little reveries of lonely travellers and chance love affairs.

The Theatre Studio of Chemnitz's twin city Ústí nad Labem (Činoherní studio města Ústí nad Labem) is a Czech regional theatre and was founded in 1972. Since the 1990s, it has developed into an important meeting place, particularly for the younger generation, thanks to its focus on young drama and Czech premières. In the 2000s, the repertoire was expanded to include new interpretations of classical texts, premières in Czech and documentary forms. The project Překročit hranice(Crossing Borders) focussed on Czech premieres of German-language texts. Today, the drama studio is a lively venue for young directors, festivals, film screenings, readings, concerts and exhibitions.
