From Beethoven's 9th Symphony to hip-hop and electro: on 18 May 2025, runners from all over Europe can
from all over Europe can discover Chemnitz under the motto "Running Culture". The special thing about it:
The running route will become the longest stage in the world. Numerous orchestras, choirs and DJs
will provide unique musical highlights along the route.

The European Capital of Culture Marathon is one of Sparkasse Chemnitz's many contributions to the year 2025. The bank is also organising the 50th German Sparkasse Marathon at the same time as the European Capital of Culture Marathon.

The marathon offers the right route for all athletic abilities. In addition to the classic marathon distance, participants can also compete in a relay or run shorter distances. Registration for the European Capital of Culture Marathon is possible at www.kulturhauptstadtmarathon.eu.
