The European “Speeches on the Mount” is a format that is already listed in the Bidbook and is firmly anchored in the "Prayers and Angels" programme line. Keynote speeches on European solidarity, peace, solidarity and reconciliation bring people in the region together to explore the questions of unifying and binding values in a common endeavour.
These impulses from thinkers, philosophers, cultural critics and theologians are intended to contribute to lifting our questions and longings for a continental, peaceful and democratic coexistence out of a nationalistic narrowness into a European cosmopolitan expanse.

European Sermon on the Mount and European Mountain Speech are part of the accompanying programme of the PURPLE PATH art and hiking trail. By 2025, European mountain sermons and mountain speeches will be held at various locations in Chemnitz and the region.
Based on the Prayers and Angels programme, the European Sermon on the Mountains will be established in church services and the European Mountain Speech in lectures and other public formats.
