With a varied programme for art enthusiasts, families, history fans and all those who like to be outdoors, Jahnsdorf and Neukirchen invite you to discover the Purple Path.

The beer garden at the substation in Jahnsdorf opens its doors at 11 am. Small snacks, drinks and a relaxed atmosphere invite you to linger. The Modified Social Bench for Jahnsdorf #1 can be admired in the immediate vicinity.

Guided hikes from Jahnsdorf to Neukirchen start at 12:00 noon (approx. 60 to 90 min.) There are two exciting routes to choose from:
1. Family & children's hike with a scavenger hunt around the works of art. This is a fun way to discover the world of the Purple Path.
2. History tour for those interested in culture with exciting insights into the past and present of the region.

The ceremonial unveiling of the Purple Path artwork by Maruša Sagadin will take place in Neukirchen at 14:00. There will be a small programme with refreshments nearby at Adorf primary school - perfect for a short break.

At 3.00 pm, you can hike back from Neukirchen to Jahnsdorf, again with two options:
1. For children & families: playful with new puzzles and creative tasks!
2. For history fans with deeper insights into the culture and development of the region.

The end of the day starts around 4.30 pm at the substation. The Jahnsdorf school band will set the mood.
Extra: shuttle service every 30 minutes between Jahnsdorf and Neukirchen - perfect for all those who prefer to collect art instead of kilometres!

The PURPLE PATH art and sculpture trail presents permanent contemporary sculptures in public spaces and tells stories from Chemnitz and 38 communities in the region. Works by more than 60 artists are on display.
