Free Walking Tours in Chemnitz

See a foreign city through the eyes of a local. The Free Walking Tour in Chemnitz follows this principle: locals take visitors on a relaxed tour of the city.

Date & Time

Location

Chemnitz, Hartmannfabrik opposite the "sleeping horse" statue

entrance free

Every Saturday and Sunday, the Free Walking Tours invite you to join a special city tour: charming, authentic and with a personal touch. The tours are organised by volunteers, are free of charge, non-commercial and open to everyone, in both German and English.

Dedicated volunteers share their very own perspective on Chemnitz. You’ll discover (favourite) spots off the beaten track, gain insights into the city’s history and hear anecdotes from everyday life. You might even pick up the odd insider tip or two.

When and where do we start?

Saturday:
Time: 10.30 am
Meeting point: Opposite the Hartmannfabrik, by the ‘Sleeping Horse’ statue

Sunday
Time: 1.30 pm
Meeting point: Opposite the Hartmannfabrik, by the ‘Sleeping Horse’ statue

It is not necessary to book, you can simply drop in and leave at any time. Groups of five to ten people or more are requested to contact by email: freewalkingtourc(at)gmx.de
For groups of more than ten people: Please contact the Chemnitz Tourist Information Centre and book a private tour.
