'haamit heimaten': A day of poetry, performances and music at the Hammerfrieden allotment garden association

The Sonnenberg district of Chemnitz is home to colourful gardens and green oases, including the Hammerfrieden allotment garden association. On this Sunday in the community garden, various traces of the seasons and migrant life in Chemnitz can be seen, heard and experienced. Presentations by the poet Anne Seubert and Minh Duc Pham will be complemented by short concerts and the art of home gardening.

 haamit heimaten is part of the decentralised ↗ heimaten Festival running from September to December 2025, organised by the Haus der Kulturen der Welt Berlin.  The main projects, European Workshop for Culture and Democracy and Living Neighbourhood, bring together a variety of perspectives on the concept of home in Chemnitz and the European Capital of Culture region, funded by the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media on the basis of a resolution of the German Bundestag.
