The Opening Weekend of HALLENKUNST 2025 presents a cultural-historical, visual and documentary timeline of the graffiti and street art movement from the 1970s in New York to the present day.

In addition, the project shows contemporary artworks, some of which were created as part of the HALLENKUNST Artists-in-Residence programme (2023 - 2025, CAMMANN Studios) or contribute an applied contribution or position to the curatorial concept.

The opening weekend will be accompanied by a stage programme of performances, film premieres and lectures in the Markthalle Chemnitz. The Unlock Book Fair will also make a guest appearance in the Markthalle and complement the exhibition with publications from independent self-publishers and publishers from the scene and the mainstream.
