The Chemnitz Industrial Museum invites young and old to a Christmas craft weekend on the 3rd Advent. Unique Christmas decorations are made here, which can later be hung on the Christmas tree. Enchanting snow globes can also be made. Another highlight is the historic steam engine from 1896, which can be seen in action on both days at 11am, 1pm and 3pm. Weighing 14 tonnes, with a flywheel just over four metres in diameter and around 200 hp, it is just as impressive today as it once was when it drove sawmills and generators. In the museum, it unfolds all its steaming magic at 65 revolutions per minute.
