Microproject | afterwork.walk + art + sketch

An after-work walk through the heart of Chemnitz, taking in selected PURPLE-PATH artworks. We’ll then stop off at the Wirkbau, where you’re welcome to do some sketching.

This time, our walk along the PURPLE PATH takes us right through the heart of Chemnitz. Along 10 km of urban paths, we’ll explore urban art. With our eyes wide open, we’ll discover things that are sometimes overlooked.

Afterwards, we’ll all sketch together at the Wirkbau. This will result in postcards and designs for the linocut workshop taking place on 23–25 July 2026 in Augustusburg, marking the start of the growth of the PURPLE PATH Postal micro-project.

Microprojects

The micro-projects are intended to provide impetus for new cultural formats or encounters in Chemnitz and the Capital of Culture Region. The broad urban and regional society is called upon to create forms of communication and social interaction. The funding programme has existed for several years and is part of the main programme of the European Capital of Culture Chemnitz 2025.
