Between Wood and Culture – Make Your Own Chopsticks is a participatory cultural project that combines craftsmanship, sustainability and intercultural exchange. In open workshops, participants make their own chopsticks from wood and gain an insight into everyday Japanese culture. This fosters encounters, offers new perspectives on materials and culture, and provides an accessible way to get actively involved.

Microprojects

The micro-projects are intended to provide impetus for new cultural formats or encounters in Chemnitz and the Capital of Culture Region. The broad urban and regional society is called upon to create forms of communication and social interaction. The funding programme has existed for several years and is part of the main programme of the European Capital of Culture Chemnitz 2025.
