Summer is here – and with it comes the most poetic event Weltecho has to offer during the hottest days of the year: the Chemnitz City Poetry Slam Championships! On 1 August, the city’s best wordsmiths will go head-to-head, battling for the title with rhythm, wit and passion. No football, no swimming, no athletics – here, they sprint with language, throw metaphors and score points with rhymes. Who will wear Chemnitz’s poetic crown? That’s up to you. Because, as always, the audience is the jury. So come to the Weltecho, cheer on your favourites and discover why poetry slam is the most beautiful competition in the world.
